BIO

Very much an introvert, I find myself behind the camera for a reason. Writing about myself is about the last thing I want to do, so I’m going to keep this brief!

I’m Robert, but you can call me Bobby.

Since childhood, I’ve been obsessed with movies. Even by kindergarten I was already telling people I wanted to make them. In middle school I was absconding with the family’s Handycam, attempting rudimentary recreations of the effects I’d seen in making-of featurettes.

The obsession grew through high school and led me to a Telecommunications program at Ball State University. While that program was geared more toward news and broadcast production, there was, and I’m sure still is, a contingent of students who treated it as a film school. I was fortunate to meet some great folks there, many that I still work with.

My projects run the gamut from narratives to ads, music videos, and corporate industrials. I enjoy that my career gives me something different every day. This site houses my portfolio as a freelance cinematographer under the Aglio Cinematic Productions banner, but I also jump on crews as an AC, gaffer or data-wrangler. I’m also a freelance editor and colorist.

I’m a nerd. I love the artistic and technical aspects equally – it's peanut butter and chocolate to me.

There’s nothing worse than egos on set. I believe a project achieves the most when every team member feels they’re making a difference to the end product. My goal is to be a friendly, knowledgeable and helpful part of any team, whatever my role.
